Match Transact Inc. dba WOW! mobile boutique, (“WOW! mobile boutique”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy, and we have developed this Privacy Policy to describe our privacy practices.

We are committed to protecting the personal information of our customers, users of our products and services, and visitors to our website (“you” and “your”), to maintaining the privacy, accuracy and security of personal information, and explaining how we collect, process, and share that information. What information does this Privacy Policy apply to?

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.

Personal information is information that can be used to identify you (alone or in combination with other information), such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, credit information, information necessary to process your purchases, and your interaction with the Site, and information gathered from third parties. Personal information does not include business contact information that we use to communicate with you in your business or professional capacity.

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children or anyone under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in their province of residence).

How is your personal information collected?

At various times throughout our Site or through other dealings with WOW! mobile boutique, you may be asked to voluntarily provide us with personal information; for example, when you sign-up for new products or services, when you get in touch with us by phone, email or chat, when you visit one of our stores or websites, or when you fill out a survey or enter a contest.

Your information may be collected in the following ways:

  • Directly from you: You may provide personal information to us in-person at one of our retail stores or at a special event, when you contact us with an inquiry, contact customer service (including through the chat feature on our Site), sign up to receive WOW! mobile boutique emails or other promotional communications, participate in a contest, complete a survey or if you make a purchase. When you visit a WOW! store, we may collect your information via a range of methods, including by filling out paper or electronic forms. We may collect some of this information on behalf of our carrier partners for the purposes described below. We also collect personal information at our retail stores through CCTV video surveillance which we use for security and loss prevention purposes as described below.
  • Third Parties: Some personal information collected or accessed by WOW! mobile boutique is provided by third parties, such as telecommunications carriers, to offer certain products, to provide certain programs or services. For example, your wireless communications carrier may give us access to your wireless account to allow us to better understand your wireless needs so we can provide you with and communicate with you about relevant products and services. If you provide us with personal information about other individuals (such as your family member, employee, employer, supervisor), we rely on you to obtain their consent to share the personal information with us.
  • Online Technology: We collect information automatically when you visit our Site, as described under “What information is collected when I visit the Site?” below.

For what purposes is your personal information used?

Visit a Boutique or Event: When you visit one of our boutiques or a booth at a fair or trade show, we may collect certain information from you to better understand your wireless needs so we can provide you with and communicate with you about relevant products and services, help you purchase a device, or provide plan information. This information may include your name, mobile number, information about your current telecommunications carrier and spend, device/phone line information, and phone usage purposes.

Purchase a device or plan with a carrier: When you purchase a device or apply for a carrier plan from us, we collect personal information to establish and maintain a commercial relationship with you, and we also collect personal information on behalf of the carrier so that they can provide you with the services you request. This information includes your name, address, email address, phone number, and (if you request to set up a carrier account) driver’s license or other government-issued ID to confirm or authenticate your identity on behalf of the carrier, and payment information. Your payment information is entered directly into the carrier’s portal and not maintained by us. If you apply for a telecommunications carrier plan, the carrier may also obtain an approval or denial of credit from a credit bureau to establish your credit worthiness and provide you with products and services.

The information will also be used, where applicable, to assess and update your credit eligibility on an ongoing basis, including the initial authorization or decline of a postpaid account. Furthermore, in order to maintain the integrity of the credit reporting system, we must be able to update your credit information from time to time with the entities that support that system, such as credit reporting agencies. Your consent for these uses cannot be withdrawn during the time that you maintain, hold, or use certain products, services, or programs, including a postpaid account, with us or by any carrier.

Process Payments: We (or our authorized third-party payment processor) also collect your full name and payment information (including billing address, credit card number, expiry date and CVV code) in order to process your transaction.

Book an appointment online: When you visit our Site, you can book an appointment with our mobile boutique experts. In order to schedule and confirm your appointment, we will collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, and postal code.

Visiting the Site: You do not have to register to visit or use our Site. However, we do collect some personal information when you visit our Site. Please see "Information about our Site," below, for detailed information regarding the personal information we collect when you visit and use our Site, and your choices.

Surveys: We may use your name, email address and phone number to send and manage our customer customer feedback surveys, which allow us to improve processes and procedures based on customer requirements and behaviours. You can opt-out of receiving survey communications by contacting us at the contact information provided in the “Contact Us” section below.

Marketing Communications: If you sign up to receive email marketing communications, we will collect your email address in order to send you newsletters, offers, promotions, and latest updates that may be tailored to your interests and preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of each email. Alternatively, you can opt-out of receiving email marketing communications by contacting us at the contact information provided in the “Contact Us” section below. Please note that you may continue to receive transactional or account-related communications from us.

Careers: In connection with a job application or related inquiry, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself (such as that contained in a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials). We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current career opportunities.

Contests and Promotions: When you enter a contest or participate in a promotion, we may collect your name, address, email address, phone number, and any additional information or content required for the contest or promotion. We use this information to administer your participation in the contest or promotion, including to deliver a prize to you.

Customer Service and Contacting Us: When you contact us with a comment, question or complaint through email, in-store or through the “Contact” page on our Site, you may be asked for information that identifies you, such as your name, address and a telephone number, along with account details and additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question, respond to your comment, and provide a positive and personalized customer experience.  We may retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service and products.

Video Surveillance: We may also use video surveillance to monitor and or/record activity that occurs in our boutiques. Your image may be recorded by such surveillance devices for loss prevention and security purposes.

How is your personal information shared?

We may disclose personal information for the purposes set out below and as otherwise permitted or required by law, including where we have obtained your consent.

  • Service Providers: We share personal information with our trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including but not limited to, administrative functions for us such as managing our customer accounts, collecting of past due bills, account management, providing customer service, web-related services and marketing and advertising assistance, and conduct customer satisfaction surveys or administrator of a rewards program or contest. Our service providers are only provided with the information they need to perform their designated functions and are not authorized to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or other purposes.
  • Telecommunications Carriers: As described above, we collect personal information on behalf of our telecommunications carrier partners and share that information with the carriers so that they can provide you with telecommunication services in which case this collection, use and disclosure is also governed by the privacy policy of the Carrier.
  • Legal Disclosures: We and our Canadian, US and other foreign service providers may disclose personal information in response to a search warrant to other legally valid inquiry or order, or to another organization for the purposes of investigating a breach of an agreement or contravention of law or detecting, suppressing or preventing fraud, or as otherwise may be required or permitted by applicable Canadian, U.S. or other law or legal process, which may include lawful access by U.S. or foreign courts, law enforcement or other government authorities. Your personal information may also be disclosed where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and to investigate or prevent actual or suspected loss or harm to persons or property.
  • Business Transactions: We may share personal information with a third party in the event of a proposed or actual financing, purchase, sale, lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal or financing of all or any portion of WOW! mobile boutique or of any of the business or assets or shares of WOW! mobile boutique.
  • Your Agent or Legal Representative: We may share personal information with a person who, in our reasonable judgement, is seeking the information as your agent, such as your legal representative.

Where may your information be stored?

We and our service providers may access, store and otherwise process personal information outside of your province and outside Canada (including, for residents of Quebec, outside of Quebec), including in the United States, or other foreign jurisdictions, where privacy laws may offer different levels of protection from those in Canada.

What security measures do we use to protect your personal information?

While no data transmission over the internet or data storage system is guaranteed to be 100 per cent secure, WOW! mobile boutique has put safeguards in place to protect personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. WOW! mobile boutique has implemented reasonable physical, electronic or procedural security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information in our custody or control.

How long do we retain your personal information?

WOW! mobile boutique will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or for sufficient time to allow you access to the information if it was used to make a decision about you or your account or as required by law.

What rights do you have to access your personal information?

You have the right to access, update, rectify and correct the personal information we hold about you. Your right to access or correct your personal information is subject to applicable legal restrictions. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Any person who has been recorded by a CCTV system may see what the footage shows if it is still stored by us. If you want to see a CCTV record you must provide a formal request in writing by email at: dataprivacyofficer@wowmobile.ca. You may also contact us by mail. Note that you can only see images of yourself pursuant to a request. Requests for access to a record may be denied in certain circumstances as set out in PIPEDA and any other applicable laws.

You may withdraw your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of personal information at any time, subject to reasonable notice and any legal and/or contractual restrictions. On receipt of notice of withdrawal of consent, we will inform you of the likely consequences of the withdrawal of consent, which may include our inability to provide certain products, services, or offers for which that information is necessary.

You may, at any time, ask us not to send you marketing materials about our products, services, or offers. To unsubscribe from receiving marketing emails, please follow the instructions included in each of our marketing emails. What information is collected when I visit the Site?

Website Usage Information: We collect the IP addresses of all visitors to our Site including page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our Site. We use this information to help us understand our Site activity, to monitor and improve the Site and to improve on our products and services available to you.

Cookies and Other Technologies: Our Site, e-mail messages, and advertisements may use “cookies” and other similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixel or gif tags, and action tags.
